AED Training

January 15 @ 9:00 am12:30 pm

We are hosting a course for our members to learn how to use the defibrillator which we have at the Club. This is a repeat of the training we offered in 2023.

The training will be held Thursday January 15. It takes about an hour and involves practice with a mannequin. The practice does not require great strength and is non-stressful. You will learn how to use the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and do CPR. There is no fee for this training.
There will be a number of sessions with a maximum of 10 people per session. Sessions run at 9:00 10:05 and 11:10 am on January 15.

It is very important for us to have a large number of members trained in the use of the defibrillator to increase the likelihood that a trained SLBC member will be present if one of us goes into cardiac arrest and requires help.  You can also use the CPR portion of the training anywhere.

The training will be led by Dr. Ralph Hayes, a retired GP. Ralph was course director for Advanced Cardiac Life Support and has provided this training to many different groups.
