North Cowichan Club Friendly Exchange This is an annual event of long standing whereby the two clubs rotate in hosting the other to a tournament and lunch. The North Cowichan club is located in Duncan quite close to the centre of town. We usually have volunteers who have room in their vehicles for additional members and this can be organized independently or through the effort of the coordinator. The tournament will be managed by the host club who provide lunch for the visitors. Likely will be two 12 end games of triples with a break in the middle for lunch. A very attractive trophy is exchanged each year to record this fun event.
Connie Priestly Ladies This is a long-standing friendly exchange between the ladies of Central Saanich and our club. Alternating hosts each year. The event is held in memory of Connie a lady bowler and one of our founding members. She was a very active club member of both clubs. She is held in particular esteem at Sidney in that our early club members found her assistance and guidance to be most helpful to their efforts of organizing and implementing the administrative procedures for our brand-new bowling club. Her death preceded that of her husband Fred who for a number of years before his passing attended each tournament and presented the trophy to the winning team - always a moving gesture that represented what social lawn bowling is all about. They are both missed but their memory lives on. The last couple of years this has been held as a "friendly"; teams were mixed with members of both clubs playing together with the game followed by a bring your own lunch. Our members usually meet at the club and car pool.
Co-Op Tournament Another friendly rivalry with the members of Central Saanich Lawn Bowling Club. Alternating hosts each year. Two – 12 end games with a bring-your-own lunch break in-between.
Tsawwassen Club Friendly Exchange This is a long-standing annual exchange visit between our two clubs. Alternating hosts each year. Visitors will be met in the morning at the ferry and driven to the club where they will engage in friendly bowling competition in a morning game. Break for lunch where we sit with the team we played and regardless of the outcome host them in gallant fashion to a delightful lunch after which we return to the green for the second and last game. Following bowling is more refreshment and then a rush to waiting vehicles and return to the ferry terminal for the trip back at the mercy of BC Ferries.
Lake Hill Ladies Exchange This is a friendly exchange between the women bowlers of Lake Hill LBC and the women bowlers of Sidney LBC. Clubs alternate home court advantage each year and usually play 2 – 8 end games. Bring your own lunch.
